The company was originally formed in the 1980’s and was a family run business operating from St. Ann’s Chappell in Cornwall. The founder, Mr. David Ponting, has now retired after successfully building the business up for nearly twenty years.
In September 2005 the company was bought, and transformed into a Limited company, and the premises are now located in the City Business Park, Somerset Place in Plymouth. The two directors Mr. George Graham and Mr. Nicolas Yeoman have many years experience and knowledge of welding, engineering and manufacturing. George is an ex-Royal Navy Engineering Technician, leaving after eighteen years service in 1993. He has also worked in manufacturing for ten years. Nick has over twelve years experience working with sheet metal processes, including welding, CNC machinery and management.
Realising the future is in the hands of today’s youth, one of their first actions was to recruit an apprentice who is studying at Plymouth’s College of Further Education and will complete a full welding and fabrication apprenticeship.
In April 2006 the business demands dictated that the business should be run as two sections, Welding Supply Sales and Welding and Fabrication. George directs the sales of all welding machines and consumables including a wide range of abrasives, and Nick directs the welding and fabrication team. A separate workshop was consequently purchased to accommodate the welding and fabrication team and is located at 1b Crantock Terrace in Ford, Plymouth. They manufacture supply and fit all aspects of wrought iron work to customer specifications. Bespoke wrought iron structures are just a small part of our portfolio, and Nick is constantly striving to build relationships with the national, local and business communities.
